About

My name is Thomas Plantin and I currently work as a Software Engineer at Amazon Pharmacy. While at work, I develop web applications and services using AWS, Python, Java, TypeScript, and more. As a Software Engineer, my goal is to maximize my growth in this field by learning new concepts and connecting with my team and community.
I have received my master’s degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in May of 2021. This degree is comprised of a multitude of tracks of study, and I chose the Software Engineering & Systems track where I studied several courses including Data Mining, Multicore Computing, Distributed Systems, Software Testing, and more.
In addition to the knowledge that I gain from my job, I spend a lot of my personal time designing and building projects which you will find in the section below. Developing these projects has given me hands-on experience with various frameworks such as Bootstrap, React, Flask, and Node.js. Recently, I have taken an interest in blockchain technologies and my 2023 goal is to develop my first web 3.0 decentralized application. When I am not programming, I enjoy cooking, playing tennis, paddleboarding, and spending time with my friends.
